WHAT WE BELIEVE
We Believe
At Grassroots Revival, we’re a Christ-centered, Bible-based, Spirit-empowered church. We exist to make it easier for people to know Jesus and to lead them in a growing relationship with Him.
-
Jesus is Lord. Salvation, forgiveness, and new life are found in Jesus Christ alone.
-
The Bible is God’s Word. Scripture is our final authority for faith and practice.
-
The Holy Spirit is active today. God still speaks, heals, and empowers believers.
-
Freedom is part of discipleship. Jesus still brings healing, inner renewal, and deliverance.
-
Discipleship is the goal. We are committed to forming mature disciples rooted in God’s presence and transformed by His Word.
-
The church is a family on mission. We pursue authenticity, honor, service, and generosity, and we welcome people from every background.
-
Gifts with accountability. We pursue spiritual gifts (including prophecy) with biblical order, humility, and testing.

Full Statement of Faith
Want the details? Below is our full Statement of Faith for those who want a more thorough explanation of what we believe and teach.

We believe that there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent—one Being in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
We believe that humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him. Yet, we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world, and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s Kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven. He is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is “true God” and “true man.”

We believe that we are saved by God’s grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us as we enter the Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters.

We believe in the ongoing sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and minister supernaturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:4–8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers so that they might have God’s power to be His witnesses. We pursue spiritual gifts with biblical order, humility, and accountability—testing and weighing what is shared in light of Scripture (1 Cor 12–14; 1 Thess 5:19–22).

We believe that the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy—sin, lies, sickness, and torment. We believe God still heals and delivers today, and we pray in faith while trusting God’s wisdom, timing, and sovereign will.

We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His Church the ordinances of baptism and communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His Kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations—baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.

We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, with the one destined for everlasting separation from God and the other for everlasting life.

We believe in the glorious return of Christ.

WHAT WE PRACTICE

Autonomy of Each Local Church
Jesus Christ is the recognized Head of the Church (Col. 1:18)—not any person, group, or religious organization. While we value partnership with other Christians and ministries, we believe each local church should be self-governing and free from denominational control.

Women in Ministry
We are complementarian, believing men and women are equal in value and dignity before God and are created with differences that complement one another. We believe both men and women are called to serve, lead, teach, and minister in the Church.
We do not believe Scripture forbids women from ministry. We believe women can serve as pastors and leaders under the oversight of the church’s leadership structure. At the same time, we believe the lead pastor role (the primary governing and shepherding responsibility for the church) is reserved for qualified men who are fully submitted to Christ and who serve as spiritual fathers alongside a team of pastors and leaders.
We believe the Church is healthiest when it is equipped with both spiritual fathers and spiritual mothers, serving together to build a thriving, balanced church family.
The Priesthood of Every Believer
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to ministry—not just pastors. God has made His people a kingdom of priests(Rev. 1:6; 1 Pet. 2:9). Every believer has direct access to God through prayer and His Word, and every believer is empowered to serve the Church and reach the world. We encourage every member to find a place to grow, serve, and use their gifts.
Giving
We believe giving is part of worship. God calls us to give cheerfully, generously, and without compulsion (2 Cor. 9:7). We teach stewardship that reflects Jesus: we work not merely to accumulate possessions, but to honor God and bless others.
We encourage giving God our “first fruits” as an expression of trust and gratitude (Prov. 3:9; 2 Cor. 9:6–15). We don’t teach giving as a rigid percentage requirement, but as joyful sacrifice for the sake of the gospel—because Jesus gave Himself for us.
Baptism by Immersion
We practice baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and identification with His death and resurrection (Col. 2:12; Rom. 6:3–4).
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a vital experience for believers, empowering them to be witnesses and to live and minister in God’s power (Acts 1:4–8; Acts 8:14–17; Acts 19:1–6).
The Lord’s Supper (Communion)
We believe communion is an ordinance given by Jesus to remember His sacrifice and proclaim His death until He returns (Luke 22:19–20; 1 Cor. 11:23–26). The bread symbolizes His body given for us, and the cup symbolizes His blood poured out for us. We celebrate communion regularly as a church family.
Gifts of the Spirit
We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in 1 Corinthians 12 are for today and are given to build up the Church and advance God’s Kingdom. These gifts operate by the Holy Spirit’s power and direction—not human effort. They serve discipleship. (1 Cor. 12:4–11).
Spirit-Led Living
We believe the Christian life can only be lived by the power of the Holy Spirit. We practice daily dependence on Him to grow in holiness and to walk in obedience, and we rely on His empowerment to minister to others (Phil. 2:13; Eph. 5:18).
Prophetic Ministry
We believe New Testament prophecy is a Spirit-prompted, Scripture-submitted gift that helps believers learn to hear God as sons and daughters and grow in faithful obedience. We pursue prophecy primarily for edification, encouragement, and comfort—words that strengthen discipleship, deepen holiness, and build up the church (1 Cor. 14:1–3). Because prophetic impressions are non-canonical and can be imperfectly received or applied, we practice them with humility, order, and accountability, testing and weighing what is shared in community (1 Thess. 5:19–22; 1 Cor. 14:29). We reject prophecy that pressures, controls, flatters, or replaces Scripture, wisdom, or pastoral care; we welcome prophecy that exalts Jesus, produces good fruit, and calls us toward faithful obedience (1 Tim. 1:18–19).
Telling Others About Jesus
We believe every Christian is called to share the good news of Jesus. We aim to live with gentleness and respect, ready to give a reason for the hope we have (1 Pet. 3:15). We practice personal evangelism and inviting friends and family into church community.
Additional Convictions
Marriage and Sexuality: We believe God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage.

Human Life: We believe every human life is created in God’s image and is sacred—from conception to natural death.

Governance and Accountability: We believe spiritual authority should be exercised with humility, transparency, and accountability. We are committed to safeguarding people from spiritual abuse and to practicing ministry in a way that is biblically faithful, healthy, and life-giving.
