Prophetic Integrity Standard
Grassroots Revival – Prophetic Integrity Standard (P.I.S.)
Purpose:
At Grassroots Revival, we welcome the gifts of the Holy Spirit and we also protect people from manipulation, confusion, and spiritual harm. We believe prophetic ministry must be biblical, humble, accountable, and love-driven.
Guiding Scripture:
1 Thessalonians 5:19–21; 1 Corinthians 14:1–3, 29; Matthew 7:15–20
1) Our Core Commitment
We value Jesus, truth, and love more than gifting, platform, or hype.
Prophecy is never a performance.
Prophetic ministry exists to:
-
encourage
-
strengthen
-
comfort
-
point people to Jesus (1 Cor. 14:3)
2) Prophecy Must Be Weighed (Not Followed Automatically)
We teach our church: prophecy is not Scripture and is never above Scripture.
All prophetic words should be tested by:
-
the Word of God
-
the fruit of the person giving it
-
wise leadership oversight
-
inner witness and peace (not pressure)
We do not make major life decisions solely on a prophetic word (marriage, divorce, moving, big spending, quitting jobs, etc.).
3) How We Minister Prophetically (Our Tone + Method)
We aim for humility and clarity, not force or control.
We speak in ways that invite discernment:
-
“I sense…”
-
“Test this and keep what’s helpful…”
-
“If this resonates, great—if not, it’s okay.”
We do not:
-
manipulate emotion
-
pressure decisions
-
claim guaranteed outcomes
-
use fear, shame, or urgency to force response
-
“fish” for private information
4) Hard Boundaries (Non-Negotiables)
Any leader or guest ministering prophetically at Grassroots Revival must agree:
A. No Personal Data-Mining
Prophetic ministry must never involve:
-
researching people beforehand
-
collecting private info through volunteers
-
using social media details as “revelation”
-
back-channeling info from friends/family/teams
If you know someone personally, you disclose it.
B. No Sexual or Romantic Prophecy
No one gives prophetic direction about:
-
who someone should date or marry
-
sexual identity decisions
-
private romantic targeting
C. No Financial Pressure
We do not use prophecy to:
-
solicit money
-
imply giving unlocks blessing
-
call out giving amounts publicly
-
“prophesy” fundraising outcomes
D. No Public Call-Outs of Deep Trauma
We do not publicly reveal:
-
abuse histories
-
addictions
-
mental health issues
-
personal sins
We protect dignity and keep sensitive ministry private and pastoral.
5) Accountability + Correction Culture
We expect mistakes sometimes. What matters is how we respond.
When a word is wrong:
-
we acknowledge it without excuses
-
we apologize if harm was caused
-
we learn and adjust
When behavior is unhealthy:
-
we pause someone from ministering
-
we follow a shepherding process (Matthew 18 principles)
-
we prioritize care for impacted people
Character always outranks gifting.
6) Who Can Minister Publicly
Public prophetic ministry (on stage, microphone, group settings) is limited to:
-
vetted leaders
-
trained Ember Group leaders
-
approved guests who agree to these standards
We believe this creates safety while still allowing the gifts to flourish.
7) Guest Minister Policy
Guest ministers must:
-
submit to house leadership
-
agree to our standards beforehand
-
refrain from platforming themselves, their brand, or their “method”
-
operate in honor, humility, and clarity
Grassroots Revival leadership reserves the right to pause or redirect ministry in real time.
8) Our Desired Fruit
We measure prophetic ministry by fruit, not intensity:
-
people feel loved, not exposed
-
people grow in Jesus, not dependence on words
-
the church becomes more grounded in Scripture
-
peace and clarity increase
-
lives change over time
Final Statement
We pursue the presence of God and the purity of ministry. We will not trade integrity for influence.
